I have a blackberry, and I was wondering how I am charged to use the Blackberry messenger. Do you need internet? And how do they charge for the pin-to-pin messages? Are they counted like SMS messages?
Thank you.

Im pretty sure you need a data plan and for t-mobile that runs about $20 a month. Text messages are text but everything else usually is data driven which in turn means you need a data plan. I wanted a blackberry once until i found out about that little issue as well. But i rather have a palm anyway.

    Hope that helps!

Pin to Pin messages count like instant messages and texts, they are $.15cents per incoming/out messages. Yes you need a data plan to connect …then the messaging plan..yes they are definilty counted as sms.
