okay. well i am getting a new dell mini 10 here somtime soon for my birthday or christmas. but my parents are on a budget ya see. well. so far i have everything that i need for 499. but i just need to know if i need to have an HD screen. because if not than i can shave off about hmm 50-60 dollers and so that brings it down to 429 so that would be great. if anyone has one that would be great. or if you know what this is. please tell me. because if i dont need the HD screen than i wont get it. or maybe i will ask my tech ed teacher. but i just wanna hear from you guys first. school doesnt start for another week. thanks so much guys!!!
also. how long will a 56Whr Lithium Ion Battery last me? verses a 28Whr Lithuim Ion Battery? hopefully i can get at least 5 hours out of the 28 Whr!!!

A netbook is just a smaller, more portable laptop so it comes with a screen. You therefore don’t need another screen.
If you want another screen, then you could use an HD monitor at 720p via the netbook’s HDMi socket but I would guess performance would take a hit because the graphics are inbuilt on these little machines – there aren’t designed for games and streaming multimedia to HD screens.

From what I have read, you would be kicking around 3 to 4 hours with the 28 and 6 to 8 on the 56W battery.
The high def screen is still in the same physical size… depends I guess on your eyes! Watch a load of movies and want them crisp and clear + wide web pages would require scrolling on the 800X600 screen. For the few extra $$ go for the HD screen is my opinion. Just an opinion.
