The truth is that for months, the Obama campaign has been attacking Hillary, impugning her character and calling into question her lifetime of public service. And now the Chicago Tribune reports that Senator Obama is preparing a “full assault” on her “over ethics and transparency.” To those who contend that Senator Obama is the clear frontrunner, I ask, to what end this “full assault” on Hillary?
On CNN last Tuesday, Senator Obama said, “Well, look, Wolf, I think if you watch how we have conducted our campaign, we’ve been very measured in terms of how we talk about Senator Clinton. … I have been careful to say, that I think that Senator Clinton is a capable person and that should she win the nomination, obviously, I would support her. You know, I’m not sure that we have been getting that same approach from the Clinton campaign.”
The facts of this election stand in stark contrast to that statement. Senator Obama and his senior campaign officials have engaged in a systematic effort to question Hillary’s integrity, credibility, and character. They have portrayed her as someone who would put her personal gain ahead of the lives of our troops, someone who would say or do anything to win an election, someone who is dishonest, divisive and disingenuous. They have adopted shop-worn anti-Clinton talking points, dusted them off and unleashed a torrent of unfounded character attacks against her.
Among other things, they have described Hillary – and her campaign – as:
“Disingenuous”
“Too polarizing to win”
‘Divisive’
“Untruthful”
“Dishonest”
‘Calculating’
“Saying and doing whatever it takes to win”
“Attempting to deceive the American people”
“One of the most secretive politicians in America”
“Literally willing to do anything to win”
“Playing politics with war”
To top it off, they have blanketed big states with false radio ads and negative mailers — ads and mailers that experts have debunked time and time again. They have distributed health care brochures using Republican framing. They have tried to draw a nexus between Hillary’s votes and the death of her friend Benazir Bhutto. And one of Senator Obama’s top advisers (who has since left the campaign) recently called Hillary “a monster.”
This “full assault” on Hillary comes from the very top of the Obama campaign, not surrogates and supporters.
This “full assault” is being directed at someone personally known to be a thoughtful, brilliant, principled, compassionate person, someone the world knows as a good Democrat, a trailblazer, a lifelong champion for children and families, a respected former first lady, a senator, a presidential candidate.
This “full assault” is targeting a staff of hundreds of hard-working, dedicated Democrats

I don’t believe a single thing that guy says, not even if he said his name was Barack Obama. The guy’s a perpetual liar that has apparently brainwashed a portion of our nation. I wonder why it is that these people were brainwashed and others were not?
He has been insulting her more than McCain I’m sure of that much!!!!

He try’s to act cool, but he is not good at it…after he gave her the finger..he acted well ..like a fool..
I hope she rings his bell tomorrow..
McCain 08

Of course he is being negative and is saying he is not.
That is the magic of politics and the hypocrisy of the media that ignores the “Obama Reality”.
●
He is correct with his statements. Hillary spent 40 minutes attacking Obama, and yet he didn’t discuss the Bosnia Gun Fire Ducking Incidence, that is what you call class.
●
And you forgot the biggest LIE of all. That Obama doesn’t take special interest money. In fact, he has taken over $180 million in BUNDLED money from huge industries: The Pharmaceutical industry over $40 million; the insurance industry over $20 million; the oil companies well over $100 million. He says he doesn’t take PAC money: but he takes bundled funds from special interest corporations like these. He claims he doesn’t believe in lobbyists: yet, he has lobbyists working deep in his campaign staff where you and I don’t see or here them.
in short he is a L I A R and should be run out of town, not run for office.

AMEN! [& Standing Ovation]
You are exactly correct; Obama is running the most negative, and most nasty campaign of all. Slick Barry learned his lessons well, straight from the mob-mentality politicians of Chicago. That’s right, he mastered those skills very well.
Although, I don’t think those skills will serve him well as a president who advocates for unity and political integrity! And, I don’t think those skills will *serve* him the presidency on a silver platter either. (Contrary to what he apparently believes) American people, as a whole, are far more intelligent than Obama gives us credit for. He’ll find that out the hard way before this race is over, there is no doubt about it.

Clinton appears to be holding herself to be above reproach, trotting out the usual accolades, “thoughtful, brilliant, principled, compassionate, lifelong champion for children”. How dare any of you question her, she seems to be saying.
What is she hiding? If there is nothing there, then don’t worry. I like transparency and open discussions.

I agree that the obama campaign has been very negative. obama started off attacking her about her vote that he couldn’t even vote in, which he would have voted present anyway. Because he is to weak to take a stand. And he hasn’t let up since, nor has his surrogates, or supporters. But the obama followers are so blinded by the obama light that they can’t see the truth. She is the best person for the job. She has stood up against adversity and lies for a long time. And that is one of the reasons she would make a good leader of this country. She has back bone and keeps going when the going gets tough. She won’t back down. I agree with your description of her.

He lets his “servants” on his campaign staff do his dirty work for him while he stays all high and mighty, above it all.
MoveOn.org and HuffingtonPost are more than happy to slash and burn for free with their comments sections piling on.
Of course, it’s all repeated immediately by the sycophant columnists and commentators who hang on the campaigns every word.
Obama is now getting so cocky that he’s really getting pissy.
There’s a sarcastic tone in his voice and a snarky body language that’s starting to wear very thin.
The old “You’re likable enough, Hillary” condescension is sneaking into his routine with a curled lip.
Obama has always been negative but it’s starting to show in public.
He’s a nasty man.

This only proves the point that nasty campaign tactics do not work in the fact that it make people angry as you are
This has been going on for years and years and wish it would stop too, but this country is so diverse, with so many different
opinions, views…..it would be impossible not to offend some one somewhere
Relax it is a very tough fight between the two and will not end until June……….that’s over 1 month away
I hate to inform you but you have seen the assaults only through a one way mirror
