I think every symbian phone user is sick to download genuie applications for his phone or to refresh the Yahoo! mobile page just to see who logged in.

Best answer:

Answer by musicseawater
Symbian isn’t a name that I’ve ever even heard before and I doubt if it’s made with global interface in mind. To me, your problem seems to start with that company rather than Yahoo.

I could be wrong, of course, but Messenger works for about 90% of the well-known mobiles made in the world, Symbian (whoever they are) is in the minority, maybe you should take your beef up with them…

A friend of mine lives in Australia and wants to get a BlackBerry so we can talk on BBM. First of all, is this even possible? And if so, is it free of charge aside from the basic BlackBerry plan fee?

Best answer:

Answer by Ari
That is the joys of BBM, It works no matter where you are in the world with anyone anywhere in the world! (as long as you have normal cell reception). As well, there are no additional charges, such as roaming or long distance charges while using BBM, unless your in a roaming area already.

Best answer:

Answer by Sam F
i think so, it depends on the local plan that you use… i think that it should be free. or included in the bills.

I’m going on contract and I’m having unlimited internet and I have the option to have BlackBerry Email which is going to cost £5 more. Do I need Blackberry E-mail for the messenger and do I need the internet for the Blackberry messenger?
Any other information about Blackberry’s would be appreciated.
Thankyou.

Best answer:

Answer by Gary S
Hi…the difference between blackberry internet service (the £5 a month bit) and the unlimited internet add on is that the unlimited internet is paying for the actual data that you use…there the blackberry internet service is paying for use of the blackberry specific services…and unfortunately you do have to have both in place to use the blackberry properly!

Without the BIS you will not be able to access email, messenger or the internet browser and without an unlimited web add on you can access them but the amout of data used would cost you a fortune!

It’s well worth paying for though, blackberry email delivers all your email the instant you receive them, blackberry messenger offer always on access to instant messaging with all your friend who have blackberry’s (you can also instantly transfer files and photos etc) and you also get access to the app world and use of apps like facebook and twitter which are really fast and again all notificationd are pushed straight to the handset so you never miss a beat!

Hope this helps!!!

I was just wondering, I just got a BlackBerry Bold 9700 from 3 Mobile Australia and with my plan I receive free social networking and free blackberry internet pack plus a given amount of other internet usage. Does this mean BlackBerry messenger is free? OR does it come under my other internet usage?

Best answer:

Answer by Greg Santos
Given that you have a Blackberry Data Plan (Blackberry Internet Service, or Blackberry Enterprise Server) Blackberry Messenger is free.

Blackberry Messenger uses your existing Blackberry Data Plan to receive and send PIN messages.
